Wulfhere has started a new life with a gang of outlaws. His first act is to lead them to an unfortunate who makes a huge mistake; going into the forest alone. Burying money and valuables during times of trouble appears to have been common in the early medieval period, some impressive hoards have been discovered recently. A man like Wulfhere would know this and look to exploit other’s paranoia and indiscretion where possible.
