The Saxon army closes on the Vikings at Stamford Bridge. King Harold prepares his men with a speech designed to fire their blood for revenge. The defeat at Fulford Gate is inspiration enough. To engage the Norse, the Saxons must first secure the bridge and so an advance party is sent ahead to do this very thing.
