At last, the Saxons come face to face with the the invading Vikings. Amongst their ranks are veterans from the Battle of Fulford Gate, led by Coenred, and they are hungry for blood. However, before the battle begins, King Harold calls on Coenred to render him a service. He wants to avert the coming battle if he can and so goes to parley with Tostig. he knows that his embittered brother is not likely to be cooperative, but for the sake of their family, he has to try.
