The time for talking is over, now comes the time for fighting. Although Harald Hardrada has been caught unawares by King Harold of England, he still holds a commanding position on top of a hill. His warriors are veterans and they will not give way easily before the Saxons. Hardrada hopes to throw back the Saxon attack, tire the enemy out, and then descend upon them with savage fury. King Harold, however, has far more experience to call upon than either Edwin and Morcar did Fulford Gate. Also, he has Coenred leading the veterans of that savage battle. They are not going to be denied their opportunity for revenge.
