The Battle of Stamford Bridge fell into two halves. After the death of King Hardrada, Tostig Godwinson took command of the Viking forces. Despite him being a Saxon, the Norse warriors follow his lead and choose to continue the fight, despite King Harold having given them the opportunity to claim their king’s body and depart in peace. It is to prove both a fateful and bloody decision on their part.
