In the Spotlight with D. Preston Davidson

Hello, D. Preston Davidson, what is your book called and what genre does it belong?

Putney’s War, Battle at Crying Rock (Western)

So tell us what it about?

Nahum Putney is a Deputy U. S. Marshal, in 1870, assigned to apprehend a fugitive wanted for slaying a Seminole Army Scout. During his investigation he encounter a corrupt sheriff and a former Confederate officer who conspire to charge Putney with murder.

What inspired you to write the book?

As a former Deputy U. S. Marshal I always wanted to write about the Marshals. I made several efforts in different genres but I just couldn’t hit on the correct genre for me. I started read westerns by authors like Lauren Payne, William Johnstone, and Louis LaMore. I also read several histories of the time period. I realized that I was meant to write westerns.

Where can readers find your book to buy?

Thank you.
