Getting Your Mojo Back

I was working as usual on a number of projects that I have going on, but then I suddenly lost the will to continue. This occurred prior to me contracting Covid for the second time. I just lost interest in doing things. Perhaps it was because I have just turned 61? Age can do funny things to you! I really don’t know.

To be honest I don’t think that it is due to any one cause, but rather a multitude of them. Health has had a part to play, true, but other things have also had a negative impact on me. The important point is, however, that, like Austin Powers, I appear to have got my mojo back! I am picking up where I left off and, hopefully, I will have new work coming out very soon!

  1. Vitamin D from the sun or pill. It energizes me and with energy, I’m inspired to write. Don’t believe what we’ve been told. Given your age, you need more than 10 minutes in the direct sun with no sunscreen. You need about 45 minutes while wearing a T-shirt and shorts with the sun at least 45 degrees. Here in Nova Scotia, that’s between about 11 and 2. I aim for one hour sunbathing, which doesn’t include the time I spend outside gardening and working around.

I was where you were last fall and through winter. I upped my Vitamin D to 4000 IU, taken throughout the day, the last one right before bedtime. It took two months to feel the effect. Now, I feel energized, and I’m writing as much as ever.

Good luck. From the sun worshipper.

  2. Hello Diana,
I think that you are right about vitamin D. We are just entering spring here in the UK, but the days of sunshine have not yet really arrived. I will look at picking up some vitamin D supplements, I know the real thing is the best but hey, I live in Britain, famous for its rainy days!
