What Makes a Writer’s Day? This!

Finished reading this wonderful book. A historical gem with hats off to the author Peter Whitaker for some seriously accurate research which brought the era to life. Anglo Saxon England the, clothes, the way of life, the characters all portrayed in intricate historically correct detail. Knowledge of how battles of the day were fought in terms of weaponry and strategy is woven onto the canvas of historical and fictitious characters. I was drawn into the back story and lives and loves, and though I never developed a great interest in history Peter’s story telling talent had me totally engaged and so gripped by events I reached that ‘can’t put it down’ stage and am looking forward to reading the next two books in this trilogy. This is a seriously good read and I can highly recommend it.

The War Wolf – Part One of the Sorrow Song Trilogy

You know, it the above kind of feedback that makes writing a novel worthwhile. When a reader recognises the level of work that you put into such a book it feels like a genuine achievement. More than anything it underscores my recent decision to change careers and make writing not only my enjoyment but also my actual work.
