Happy Writing – Getting Going!

I have to admit that I thought taking early retirement would give me more time to do all the things that I want to do but the reality is that so far I have been too busy. To be fair, it has only been a little over a week since I finished my last working day, but it has felt rather hectic. Now that I am available, members of my family have been asking me to take them places and do things for them. Even my wife, who encouraged me to finish with fulltime work, has taken advantage of me! As yet there has not been much time to spend on actually writing; it is almost as if I had more time to myself when I was at work!

However, I have been doing something; reorganising thefiles on my storage device. I know, it does not sound very exciting, but it is necessary for the projects that I have planned. First, I have gathered together the current manuscripts for The Sorrow Song Trilogy and I can now start reviewing them. If I make any changes to each one, which I fully expect to do, then I am going to upload it to replace those already in use. I have also been setting up a proper filing system for Pomerania, my current work, as it did not have anything previously. I have also started work on setting up a dedicated area for marketing, something that I really lacked in the past and I think that it showed in the work that I produced.

One area that has picked up is my blogging. I have been able to write more frequently and I have to admit that I have enjoyed doing so. I seem to have more topics to cover also. I am sure that I will settle into a routine soon and that my work will benefit from it. So far, my not being at my work location Monday to Friday is a novelty, but I am determined to get into a routine that will allow me to enjoy the situation to the full and be both available to family and friends and be more creative too.
