When I am writing a book I often get ideas for what I want the cover to look like while the story is developing, but in this instance the imagery just never revealed itself until after I had finished the work. This is a new experience for me, but not one that I was particularly concerned about. I always have confidence in my ability to create the work that I want when I need it.
The image below is my proposed book cover. I like it because it has most of the elements that are in the story; well, at least all of the important ones. Also, it is suggestive of other ideas that appear in the written work; that is something that will only become apparent to readers after they have read the book, however. It took me a little over three and a half hours to produce. A friend suggested a change to the contrast, which I agreed with, but that took only a minute or two to achieve. I am very happy with the end result.
