A synonym is a word or phrase that is means exactly the same, or so close as to make precious little difference, to another word or phrase in the same language. They can be found in great abundance within the pages of a thesaurus. I have to admit that there was a time when I thought that a thesaurus was a dinosaur that I had yet to read about!

It is an interesting experience writing about events that have actually happened to you, the author. I can see why some people choose to write books that are at least semi-autobiographical; it is a cathartic process
