I have to admit that I thought taking early retirement would give me more time to do all the things that I want to do but the reality is that so far I have been too busy
writing
Pomerania 11
As I have said previously, the book is not particularly organised, certainly not in comparison to my previous works. I honestly think that this is necessary to the type of novel that I am writing. It is intended to be a whimsical fantasy that is based to a large extent on my life experience
The Last of the Mohicans
James Fenimore Cooper’s most famous work, The Last of the Mohicans’, has often been described as unreadable by modern audiences. It is fair to state that Cooper wrote with an overly descriptive style, but then it is not very different to that of other authors of his time. The book was first published in 1826 … Continue reading The Last of the Mohicans
Happy Writing – The Half-Baked Notion

Changing Tack
After 30+ years with the same employer I am taking early retirement. My last day in the job will be at the end of March 2023. It is a momentous step to take, but I believe that it will be the right one
Happy Writing: The Loneliness of the Writer
Writing can be a lonely occupation. I have never worked with someone else but I think that if I did then it would be remotely. Like many people who write, I have my preferences and they do not include having other people around me at the time. In fact, I have a strong attachment to the solitude that comes with being a writer
The Devil Within Us
Originally, I had intended the British Agent, Doc Hunter who appeared in my previous novel ‘Eugenica’, as the protagonist, but the more I wrote about Artemisia the more she pushed herself to the front. In the end, being a gentleman, I let her have her way.
