If you have read my previous posts on the topic of marketing, then you will know that so far it has been somewhat underwhelming. My wife suggested a different approach, however, which involves me attending a book fair as an author!
I do not know why I never thought of doing this myself. It seems quite logical after all. Her suggestion coincided with an advert appearing for the Lincolnshire Authors’ Autumn Book Fair on Saturday, 4th September, in Louth. This location is less than 50 miles from where I live. I decided to take the plunge and booked a table.
As an absolute beginner at this sort of thing I am both excited at the prospect of meeting real people who might be interested in books, I have already decided to concentrate on my Sorrow Song Trilogy only, and worried that I will not sell a single book! One thing is for sure, I am going to find out either way.
Good luck Peter. I did this once in Texas and sold a lot of books…. Here is CZ it’s harder to do but your wife is right….. this is a great way to market your books.
